(May 04, 2008 at 02:33 AM) _WRITTEN_BY Parag Nawathe
There are few things in life that can make a grown man cry. The most special one is the birth of your first child. On 3rd May 2008 at 08.02, my wife gave birth to our daughter Rhiya. What a beautiful bundle of joy. Welcome to sleepless nights.... but well worth it

Rain, Rain and Wind
(Jun 24, 2007 at 04:33 AM) _WRITTEN_BY Parag Nawathe
What a strange June it has been? Lots of rain and freck strong winds. If this isn't a sign of global warming, I don't know what is. For all those gardeners out there, this weather fest is doing my head in. Plant hanging baskets and the heavy rain and wind rips out the plants or drown then in water. Ground plants are having there branches snapped, so fustrating. Can't wait for July, hopefully we will have more sun, and less rain, and then the standard hosepipe ban...
VMWare 2.5 Certified
(Dec 14, 2006 at 01:12 PM) _WRITTEN_BY Parag Nawathe
Today I  completed my VMWare ESX 2.5 certification. Luckily, after checking the VMWare site, I saw it was going to be retired on 31st December 2006. After 1 weeks studying  after work. Reading all the small print in the student manual and the guides from the site. I am glad I completed it this side of Christmas. Will start my MCSE 2003 Upgrade exams in the new year.
More Fruit Plants
(Nov 09, 2006 at 04:19 AM) _WRITTEN_BY Parag Nawathe
The time has come again for me to buy more fruit plants. There is something in growing and eating your own fruit and veg. I now have bought a Peach tree, Apricot Tree and a red, black and white current bush. Hopefully in 2 years I should be able to start harvesting my fruit. On another note, my lemon tree is feeling ill and having it's leaves falling off. I believe it to  be due to too much watering, even though I am only watering it once a week. The help and advice I got from the guy's at Bakker Spalding is invaluable and I highly recommend buying your plants from them at www.bakker.com.
MCSE 2000 Certified
(Nov 09, 2006 at 04:13 AM) _WRITTEN_BY Parag Nawathe
On 10th October 2006, I finally completed my Windows 2000 MCSE certification. Eight years after getting my MCSE NT4. Due to long hours and little time to study, it has taken so long to complete. Using training labs, study guides and 5 years of doing first hand implementation, has allowed me to complete my exams in 6 months. I am planning to get my 2003 Certification by middle of 2007. My next exam is going to be my VCP in VMWare 2.5. Lets hope I get it done by December this year.
How safe are we...
(Jun 03, 2006 at 05:50 AM) _WRITTEN_BY Parag Nawathe
Everyday I am seeing or reading in the papers or news, of knife crimes. I can remember years ago, it was safe to walk outside, go to the shops, play in th eparks. Now-a-days, All we see and hear are about racial attacks, stabbings, happy slappings, gun crimes and natural disasters. If anything this is a wake up call to everyone, to start thinking about each other, and to start seeing beyond the colour and religion of a person. We need more police walking the beat, and less behind desks. We need more neighbourhood watch schemes, and more community activities to intergrate everyone, rather than isolate them. I agree that anyone carrying a gun or knife should be sent to jail for at least 5 years. There is no reason to walk around with any of these items. This country is starting to become like America, where gun and knife crimes are on the increase. Maybe we need the schools to start taking a tougher stance on bullying, and to educate students on all cultures. Maybe we need parents to be more responsible for there childrens upbringing. Lets hope we can change Britain, back to the safe and green country, it once was.
My Nectarine Tree is sick
(Jun 03, 2006 at 05:41 AM) _WRITTEN_BY Parag Nawathe
Looking after fruit trees, can be a lot like looking after kids. They get sick, don't like change too much. My nectarine tree, I have just found out is suffering from Peach Leaf Curl. A fungal disease that causes it to loose a lot of its leaves. Not a good sight. So, I am off now to the garden centre to get some Copper fungiside, some fertiliser and mulch to nurse my tree back to health. Hopefully it will start to show signs of recovery.
On track for my MCSE certification
(May 27, 2006 at 03:15 AM) _WRITTEN_BY Parag Nawathe
Finally, I have got down to sitting and revising for my Microsoft exams to get certified. The problem with working in IT, is that you tend not to have much time to study to sit the exams. And unless you have no friends, the last thing you want to do after 9 hours of work, is put your head in the books to sit the exams. Most companies, give there staff, study days, or time during the week to continue or develop there career, but when your company is 24x7, there is always firefighting to be done. My mission is to get MCSE 2000 and 2003 certified by the year end. A big challenge as, although I use the products daily, I only use a fraction of what is on offer from the Operating System. Getting back to the books, does mean I can improve and develop new ideas in the company to streamline how things are done. I have 9 exams to sit. I have just passed the first one 70-217. Eight left to go. By the time I finish, it will be time to upgrade to Vista ;)
What is it with the weather?
(May 27, 2006 at 03:05 AM) _WRITTEN_BY Parag Nawathe
Let me tell you, that all this rain, is really starting to annoy me. If you want proof of Global warming, look no further. We should be having nice hot sunny days, not down pours. Lets hope June turns out nice.
At last I have a Blog
(May 05, 2006 at 07:57 AM) _WRITTEN_BY Parag Nawathe
All, I have finally found a mambo component that will allow me to have a blog on my site, that intergrates nicely with the site layout. Although, it only scored 1 in the site poll, it has taken me this long to find a blog component. I know people want a photo gallery and I will be looking into this. Between work and studying, the number of hours in the day are too little.... lets see if I can get a photo gallery up by next month ;)
Bring on the sunshine
(May 05, 2006 at 07:46 AM) _WRITTEN_BY Parag Nawathe
It is days like today that make me feel like living in London is great. Blue skies, Green trees, and everyone in summer clothes. This calls for the custom BBQ to be reassembled and the steaks a cooking. Cold Beers and plenty of music. It truely feels that summer is here, even though there is a hosepipe ban. Supposedly Rome and Dallas have recieved more rainfall than here in London... not sure about that, seeing as last week we had shed loads of rain... All I can say is ... fix those leaky pipes..
